I am not a resident of Turlock Irrigation District 5; however, I am aware that the candidate that wins in District 5 will have a large impact on the overall picture as to how well the district will operate. I would like to see someone elected who has experience in water supply and water issues. I would also like to see someone elected who has roots in this area, preferably someone in farming.

I was very happy when I learned Ron Macedo was running for this position. Last week, a letter insinuated that Ron was only interested in helping a few large business enterprises at the expense of the general public. There was nothing written to substantiate this statement. Hopefully informed voters will look past this attack on Macedo's credibility and look at his qualifications -- a hard working farmer with intelligence and experience. He knows the importance that agriculture has on our economic success.
