HUGHSON -- Modesto Christian was near-flawless in its tuneup before next Friday's big game against Escalon.

The Crusaders (8-0, 3-0 Trans-Valley League) put on an offensive demonstration against an overwhelmed Hughson, handing the Huskies a 65-0 defeat on Friday night.

Running back David Sjelin had 144 yards and two touchdowns after only two carries in the first quarter.

Quarterback Isaiah Burse carried the ball 12 times for 202 yards and two touchdown, but he also threw six passes, completing five for three more touchdowns.

To top off his night, Burse also intercepted a pass and returned it 52 yards for his sixth TD of the game.

By the fourth quarter, coaches agreed to play with a running clock and both substituted liberally.

Next Friday, MC travels to unbeaten Escalon (8-0), which beat Riverbank 56-0 on Friday.

Hughson fell to 2-6 and 0-3.
