Modesto police, firefighters, ambulance medics teach a safety lesson

Police, firefighters and ambulance medics offered safety tips for parents and children Saturday at a Halloween Safety Fair in the Save Mart shopping center at Oakdale Road and Scenic Drive in Modesto. A SWAT armored vehicle was on hand, in addition to climb into ambulances, patrol cars and fire engines and get a firsthand look at the equipment used by the agencies. The Modesto Fire Department taught children about the dangers of fire and smoke.
