SALIDA -- Isaiah Burse led a strong defensive effort, returning two second-quarter interceptions for TDs, as Modesto Christian intercepted six passes while beating Orestimba 63-0 on Friday night.

MC's school record is seven interceptions in one game, and assistant coach Adam Foster said an intimidating pass rush was the key.

"We wanted to put a lot of pressure on them early, because Orestimaba comes out with a spread formation and we wanted to get after their quarterback before he coudl get settled in," Foster said. "Both of Isaiah's touchdowns were when he jumped in front of screen passes."

Burse scored from 29 and 39 yards to give MC a 49-0 halftime lead. He had throw a 56-yard TD pass to Davis Sjelin in the first quarter, then scored on a 17-yard run to open the second period.
