Camera enthusiasts to hold first Modesto 'photo walk'

Several dozen photographers will gather in Modesto on Thursday evening for the city's first "photo walk," which will be held in conjunction with the monthly art galleries walk.

Photographer Jerad Hill, who is organizing the event, will lead the group on a walk around downtown and give tips on how to take better photographs. As of this afternoon, Hill said more than 70 people had registered.

Hill has recruited other professionals to run seminars after the walk on editing digital images and other topics.

Anyone wishing to participate is asked to gather at The State Theatre after 6:30 p.m. The walk begins at 7, and the tutorials will be at The State starting about 8:30.
