Funeral services set for Steve May

A funeral service for Sgt. Steve May has been scheduled for Wednesday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 1326 12th St., Modesto.

May, 53, died Thursday in a Modesto hospital from injuries suffered in an on-duty vehicle collision July 29, 2002.

According to the Modesto Police Department, May will be honored at a full police funeral that is open to the public. The department expects officers from around California to join the procession to Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson. A graveside service, also open to the public, will begin there about noon. A public visitation is set from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Salas Brothers Chapel, 419 Scenic Drive.
