MODESTO -- Name: David Mendez, 22, of Modesto
Synopsis: Mendez was fatally shot in the street about 8 p.m. on June 18 in east Modesto on the 200 block of Carmillita Way. He had been playing basketball with three cousins when a car stopped in the street with two men in it, who called Mendez over. Mendez and the two men talked and then shots were fired from the car and Mendez had been shot.

Suspect: Two remain at large. Police describe them as Latinos driving a four-door, blue car
