See farms, ranch, vineyard Aug. 1

Five sites are on the itinerary for the second annual Tuolumne County Farm and Ranch Tour, set for Aug. 1. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., participants can visit the sites in any order. They are:

• Gianelli Vineyards, a winery on Algerine Road near Jamestown.

• Red Earth Farm, a produce and egg operation on Algerine-Wards Ferry Road near Sonora.

• Llamas of Circle Home, which raises the animals on Tuolumne Road near Standard.

• Cover's Apple Ranch on Cherokee Road near Tuolumne.

• Twain Harte Tree Farm, a Christmas tree grower off North Tuolumne Road.

The tour will feature wagon rides, a petting zoo, arts and crafts, animal feeding and train rides. It is $10 for adults, free for children and teens. For more information, call 533-5695 or go to www.farmsoftuolumnecounty.org.

The San Joaquin/Stanislaus CattleWomen have donated $250 to the Salvation Army in each county to help it provide beef for Father's Day meals. The donation is part of the Beef for Fathers Day promotion by American National CattleWomen Inc. Save Mart Supermarkets is taking part in the promotion in the two counties.
