Don't miss the Constantines at the Red Room tonight

Herald staffJune 15, 2009

Canadian indie rock band Constantines hits the Red Room in Kennewick tonight. Their stop tonight at 9 p.m. is among points at several notable Northwest indie venues on their way to the East Coast where they'll play Central Park Summerstage on June 30 in New York City.

The group most notably got together with indie sweetheart Feist to cover the Bee Gees' "Islands in the Stream." But the under-30 set might find a more recognizable entry point in that the song was sampled and lyrics reworked in the Pras/ODB hip-hop tune "Ghetto Superstar."

Tickets are $12 at the door. And the show starts at 9 p.m. Opening will be local alt-art-rock band Mwanza and N'awlins psych-folk band Giant Cloud.
