Man driving stolen truck crashes, dies near Hilmar

HILMAR -- A man driving a stolen vehicle on Tegner Road north of Bloss Avenue veered off the road, crashed and died early Friday morning, said the California Highway Patrol.

The driver was flung from the truck. He was not wearing a seat belt. Paramedics pronounced him dead on the scene, said CHP spokesman Shane Ferriera.

Identification is pending, awaiting notification of his family.
