Ripon Garden Club meets April 1

"The Beauty of Japanese Maples" is the theme of the April meeting of the Ripon Garden Club, set for April 1. The meeting gets under way at

10 a.m. at the American Legion Hall, 206 S. Stockton Ave.. The guest speaker is Paul Jones, who has been collecting and growing Japanese maples for about 25 years. Currently, there are roughly 200 varieties in his collection. Jones will discuss selecting and growing Japanese maples in San Joaquin County. The public is invited to attend.
