KAYLEE SEDLER, Bret Harte freshmanSmooth freshman is the future of running in the Bret Harte program. Placed second in the sub-section meet -- her team's No. 1 placer -- followed by a fourth-place finish in the section championship and 34th in the state.
PEARL RIVERS, Escalon juniorAt nearly 6-feet tall, Rivers dwarfed most other cross country runners. She could run pretty fast as well. She took ninth in both the sub-section and section Masters Division IV meets, followed by a 58th-place finish at state.
TERESA MALLORY, Golden Valley sophomoreCentral California Conference individual champion was 18th in the Sac-Joaquin sub-section Division I meet, followed by a 17th-place finish at the section championships. Was two spots from qualifying for the state meet.
LIZZIE GROLLE, Sonora juniorThe Valley Oak League's fastest runner came out of nowhere to place second at the Sac-Joaquin Sub-Section Division III meet at Frogtown. Placed 12th at the section Masters championships, taking the final state meet berth.
