Name: Alejandro Rangel

Synopsis: Authorities learned of the shooting at 1:53 a.m., when three men arrived at a hospital; each had gunshot wounds. The men said they had been shot while driving on Yosemite Boulevard near Riverside Drive, east of Mitchell Road. Rangel, 27, of Modesto was pronounced dead not long after midnight Monday. A 30-year-old man who was shot was in critical condition. The third victim, a 22-year-old from Modesto, was treated and released from the hospital.

Motivation: Authorities said they believe the shooting was gang-related.
