Most Wanted: Alex Mares

NAME: Alex Mares

CHARGE: Homicide

DESCRIPTION: 21 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 225 pounds, black hair, brown eyes

THE CASE: The Central Valley Gang Impact Task Force identified Mares, Armando Pulido, 25, and Javier Gomez, 22, all of Modesto, as suspects in the shooting death of Victor Gaona, 35, of Modesto. The shooting occurred when a gang-related fight between two groups broke out about 11:15 p.m. Sept. 3 near Ustick Road and Dezzani Lane, just south of West Hatch Road in south Modesto.

NOTES: The suspects are wanted by Modesto police and are documented Norteño gang members, according to the task force.
