The Merced County Transit system is expanding its Car-less Commute program, offering relief from high gas prices. For $30 per month, riders can get door-to-door bus service from Turlock, Dos Palos, Gustine, Los Banos, Merced, Atwater and Livingston.

In an emergency situation, a rider can get an immediate ride home. Riders say they save up to $250 a month in gas costs. For more information, go to www.mercedrides.com. For a video report including interviews with passengers, visit www.modbee.com/videos or click the video link to the right.
