Turlock turns 100 this weekend.

Awww, and the old-timer doesn't look a day over 99.

The city's centennial celebration includes a street fair, parade and screening of a new documentary. The city, Chamber of Commerce, Centennial Committee and Downtown Property Owners Association have come together for a weekend's worth of fun.

Starting today, come to an outdoor fair and car show on Main Street downtown. Events run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Festivalgoers also are encouraged to join the pops concert and Fantastic Fourth fireworks at California State University, Stanislaus. That show begins at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday enjoy another full day of the street fair from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Kick off the day with a 10 a.m. parade featuring some 100 entries. The sold-out Centennial Gala begins at 5:30 p.m. And the night ends with the première screening of "Turlock: A Historical Documentary" at 8 p.m. at Turlock Community Theatre.

The 80-minute documentary was filmed and produced by The Creation Lab, a video production company in Turlock. It includes archival footage, interviews and aerial shots that tell the story of the city and its beginnings.

Tickets to the film are $20; all other public events are free.
