Here are some property tax statistics:
Stanislaus County: $40,949,000 of the $485,570,000 owed for property taxes, bonds and special districts had not been received as of Tuesday. That's an 8.5 delinquency rate, compared with about
2.2 percent in a typical year.
The county has 156,000 land parcels. Today, 8,237 of them still owe the first installment of taxes, which was due Dec. 10. There are 11,991 parcels on which the second installment of taxes, due April 10, hasn't been paid. About 7.7 percent of all parcels are behind on taxes.
San Joaquin County: $57,307,000 of the $758,747,000 owed hasn't been paid. That's a 7.7 percent delinquency rate. Of the 211,580 parcels in the county, about 19,000, or 9 percent, owe taxes.
Merced County: $22,194,000 of the $221,704,000 owed hasn't been paid. That's a
10 percent delinquency rate. Of the 84,838 parcels in the county, about 8,200, or 9.7 percent, owe taxes.
