Reporters are only doing jobs

Within the last month, teens from local high schools wrote multiple letters regarding the crisis in Darfur, with vivid detail and statistics supporting why it is indeed a crisis. I didn't see any responses from our community members about how "horrible" it is and how they themselves will "need counseling" after reading these letters.

But a young child is killed within our community, and all of a sudden, The Bee is in the wrong by reporting what's really going on? I disagree. Sorry, but my sympathies are not with the readers of this sad information, but rather with the families and witnesses of the crime. It is not the fault of The Modesto Bee that this tragedy occurred, and in the future, maybe if you don't like the heading of a story, perhaps you should turn the page and stop blaming reporters for doing their jobs.
