All-District soccer team

F JORDAN CARLBERG

Turlock senior

An all-district repeater, had 34 goals and 10 assists while leading Bulldogs to Sac-Joaquin Section Division I final, where they fell 1-0 to St. Francis. Her four-year varsity totals were 104 goals and 42 assists.

F LEXI KOPF

Sonora senior

Capped career by taking 'Cats to the Division IV title -- the third section crown in a row -- and a No. 17 national ranking. Had 36 goals, giving her 128 as a Wildcat, and 12 assists. Headed to UC Irvine on scholarship.

F BLAKE LOPES

Hilmar senior

Headed off to Arizona State to play soccer and study kinesiology, Lopes had 20 goals and 24 assists while leading the 'Jackets to a second consecutive section Division V championship.

MF HAYLEE BETTENCOURT

Hilmar sophomore

The WAC MVP for the second year in a row, had 28 goals and 18 assists as the 'Jackets avenged two WAC defeats by beating rival Central Catholic 1-0 in the section final. She's No. 1 in her class of 185 with a 4.29 GPA.

MF NICOLE VANNI

Sierra junior

Finished with a flurry, scoring in 13 of the 'Wolves final 15 matches, including a goal in the 2-1 loss in the section playoffs. Had a goal and assist in upset of Sonora, and totaled 27 goals and 13 assists.

MF KYLIE PILLON

Ripon senior

TVL MVP was glue that kept team together, playing every minute of every match. Led district with 25 assists and is Ripon's No. 6 career scorer. Scored in 1-0 win over Hughson to clinch TVL crown.

MF KRISTA MESSER

Pitman senior

Ability to control the center of the field led the surprising Pride to second place in the CCC and a playoff berth. Had six goals and an assist, but her strength was turning back attacks on Pride's side of the field.

D ALYSSA STEARNS

Beyer senior

All-district repeater and four-time all-MMC pick, played every minute on a defense that gave up three goals in 14-0-1 MMC campaign. Has a scholarship to play for UC Riverside next season.

D HILARY CALLAHAN

Sonora junior

Three-year starter is fast, strong and exceptional at clearing balls in the air, coach Buzz Garvin noted. Played center fullback on a defense that allowed just seven goals during 'Cats 26-2-2 season.

D CHELSEA DAVIS

Turlock junior

The aggressive defender led a defense that allowed only 27 goals in 29 games and was the foundation for the 'Dogs CCC title. Turlock posted 12 shutouts and allowed two goals in four playoff matches.

GK BEKAH GARVIN

Sonora junior

Led section with 23 shutouts, raising career total to 46 and putting her within range of the state record of 59 shutouts in a career. Started all three section finals and has verbally committed to Concordia University.

Coach DENNIS BISHOP

Turlock

In his seventh season, Bishop led the Bulldogs to a third consecutive CCC title and within a win of a section title. Turlock was 21-6-2 this year and 64-11-7 over the past three seasons.
