Overcome dirty politics by voting

June 2, 2008

I am writing to report on the dirty politics behind the Jeff Denham recall effort. The man starting it all, Sen. Don Perata, D-Alameda, waited until the recall effort was safely printed on our election ballots to say he was "stepping away" from the recall. Many people now think the battle to keep Denham in office is over and they do not have to vote "no." This might be a clever trick to disarm Denham supporters and save Perata from spending more money on pushing the recall. I am sure the pro-recall people all know the ballot will decide Jeff's fate.

Our state has a $14 million deficit due to the terrible budget Perata supported. Jeff was 100 percent correct to oppose this outrageous unbalanced budget that now is resulting in fund cuts all over. It is vital that we all vote "no" on the recall of our courageous senator.
