The Modesto City Council on Tuesday is scheduled to vote on:

Requiring all developments in areas zoned for commercial and industrial uses to undergo a review to check whether they comply with city design standards

Hearing an appeal from a Coffee Road carwash owner who wants the council to reduce the development fees she paid for her business

Accepting a preliminary design report for a $9.6 million sewer line repair project expected to be finished July 2009

Accepting a preliminary design report for improvements to a major sewer pipeline. The cost of the project could range from

$22.2 million to $36.5 million.

Adopting a policy that encourages the city to buy recycled materials when possible

Spending $106,950 to buy five vans for the Public Works Department

Buying a modular building and moving another building at the city's compost facility. Pacific Mobile Structures of Modesto can earn $138,064 under the contract.

Extending a consulting agreement for retired city planner George Osner. The city hired him on a part-time basis in November 2005 after his retirement. It has extended the arrangement twice.
