In "Latinos vote for those who respect them," (Nov. 12, Page B-5), Ruben Navarrette is making the point of how the GOP and other politicians take the Latino vote for granted. He refers to illegal border crossings in Arizona as a "phenomenon."

I have read all of Navarrette's opinions and Navarrette is about as one-sided, nonobjective, biased and showing favoritism to his rallying point (illegal immigration) as the GOP. He champions the illegal immigrant, yet says nothing about the legal immigrant. I am starting to wonder if Navarrette is here legally; has anyone checked his green card lately?

Editor's note: Navarrette was born in Fresno to parents who were born in California and Texas. Three of his four grandparents also were born in the United States, and the fourth came from Mexico, legally, about 1910. As a syndicated opinions columnist, he's expected to express opinions.
