There's nothing simple when it comes to deciphering Escalon High's deceptive wing-T offense, unless you happen to be Nick Aprile and you're directing the attack.
"We have a variety of sets and motions, and it's a challenge trying to master all of the different options a quarterback has," said coach Mark Loureiro. "Nick, though, has been running this offense since Pop Warner and he has no problem handling the misdirection, the hand-offs or taking off and running it."
Aprile had 12 carries for 201 yards and two TDs, and completed six of seven passes for 93 yards as Escalon routed Trans-Valley League contender Hughson 43-7. He also had five tackles and a fumble recovery.
