Joseph Byous typically splits time at tailback, sharing his carries with Ian Larsen. With his partner out of action with a high ankle sprain last week, however, Byous had the opportunity to carry the entire load.
"They usually rotate to keep fresh, since their position takes a pounding," first-year coach Jeremy Plaa said. "They both are successful at what they do."
Byous showed he was up to the task, carrying 20 times for 275 yards and five touchdowns in a 62-37 win over Tracy. He had TD runs of 45 and 48 yards.
