Teen Gunned Down Outside Crows Landing Hall

August 13, 2007

— An 18-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday night in Crows Landing outside a quinceañera.

Emmanuel Moreno of Patterson was taken to Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock; he was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived.

Deputies responded about 9:30 p.m. to several 911 reports of gunshots and fighting outside Crows Landing Pentecost Hall, at 4th and G streets, said deputy Royjindar Singh, spokesman for the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department.

On Highway 33, several people, one with gunshot wounds to his torso, flagged down a deputy headed to the hall. Deputies found blood and shell casings outside the building, Singh said. They are interviewing more than 200 witnesses and have no information at this time on who else was involved in the shooting, he said.

Deputies ask anyone with information about the shooting to call Detective Marc Nuno at 525-7081 or Crime Stoppers at 521-4636.
