Attorney Gloria Allred and other women in the courtroom laughed when neither Modesto police Detective Al Brocchini nor defense attorney Kirk McAllister recognized the brand Louis Vuitton, the type of wallet Laci Peterson had. Louis Vuitton is a high-end luggage and accessory manufacturer. Allred represents Amber Frey, Scott Peterson's former girlfriend and an expected prosecution witness next week.
Deputy public defender Kent Faulkner, the attorney originally assigned the case, was in court Thursday and has been present for much of the testimony through the preliminary hearing. He declined to comment on what brought him to court.
