A Sonora man was sentenced to 45 days in Stanislaus County Jail after he was convicted of driving under the influence in Modesto, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Glen Edward Williams, 26, was convicted after a two-day trial.
The case arose out of a 2007 accident on McHenry Avenue north of Kiernan Avenue. The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and Williams showed signs of intoxication. He submitted to a field sobriety test, and upon arrest, his blood alcohol content was shown to be 0.09/0.08 percent, according to a press release from the DA’s office.
After the trial, Williams admitted to having a prior DUI conviction in Arizona.
In addition to jail time, Judge Timothy Salter placed Williams on three years’ probation, ordered him to pay fines and restitution and to get alcohol counseling.
