BuzzzOakdale High School took its 12th consecutive overall trophy at the 32nd annual Stanislaus County Academic Decathlon, held Saturday at Gregori High School in Modesto. Ceres High came in second, and Denair High third.
Humble, athletic and outgoing, just a few words often used to describe 18-year-old Thomas DeShields. When it comes to academics, Thomas has maintained a 3.5 GPA throughout high school and has played football all four years, as well as baseball his freshman year.
